Just installed it on WP2.8 and got almost 100 smilies extra. It works very simple!

But I had a little problem with the smilies already posted in my blog: They were shown as code instead of a smiley.

After a quick fix in the *.php of the wp folder (putting extra code like :cry: :mrgreen: :twisted: etc) the smilies showed up again.

Hope to enjoy this for a long time. To add the little yellow monsters my self is a thing I like to do next ;-)

Follow-up: I just deleted the smileys plugin folder from ..\plugins … and I can get back to my posts and pages.

I love the LMB Box Comment Quicktags … but it looks like I’ll have to hold off on the smileys. :o(

Any thoughts or help would be appreciated because I’d really like to use this plugin.

See the prior comment for other versions, but what I didn’t add was that I downloaded V3.2 of the Smileys.

Hi. I just installed the smileys (after installing the LMB Box Quick tags — which works great) and all of a sudden I was having problems editing my pages and posts. IE7 refused to open them and errored out (although I could open them with FF).

When I tried to remove the smileys to see if that was the cause … I too got the “Your attempt to deactivate this plugin … has failed”.

I’m running WP 2.7.1 and Atahualpa 3.3.3 with your latest version downloaded from the WordPress site.

Thoughts?

I’m looking for a plugin that will allow me and my visitors to use emoticons larger than smileys. Like the little “mood” animations for LJ and other sites. Will this plugin allow me to do that?

Ben, if you delete the plugin folder, it will deactivate automatically. What version of WordPress are you using?

When I try to deactivate this plugin I get this error:

“Your attempt to deactivate this plugin: “lmbbox-smileys/lmbbox-smileys.php” has failed.

Please try again.”

There is any way to remove your plugin???

Is it possible to circumvent the obligatory space in front of and at the end of a smiley? For my blog I need the smilies inline with the text, it's just nicer when I write about bridge, diagrams and cards. I've added a WP support question too here, but no luck so far.

I have downloaded this and would like to use my own smilies with it. I have created a directory following the naming convention and given it it’s own config file (and have amended it to match the directory) but I can’t get it to either show up in the settings page or to have the button show up in the write page. I’m on WP 2.6.3 – is this plugin still compatible?
