What The F**K Is Going On …

It has been over a month since I posted anything at all and I’m sorry about this. I have been working long and hard on the next release of my plugin LMB^Box FilePress. On top of this, I have been busy with other situations that were surrounding me … so here’s the update:

First of all (just to get it off my dumb ass chest) I royally fucked up BIG time! I’m currently working on someone’s computer for them (fixing it and reinstalling Windows) and it needed a new hard drive. So since I was planning to reinstall my Server, I was going to replace my Server’s current 15GB hard drive with a 20GB one and use the 15GB in this guy’s computer. Last night I cleaned off the 20GB hard drive of any data that I wanted to keep to get it readly for the install this morning. But at the time I didn’t have time to do the same with 15GB hard drive in the Server and told myself that I’d do it this morning BEFORE I started the install. Can you guess what happened? Yep, I forgot about that last, little, non-important step of getting all the data off of the 15GB hard drive before I started the install! And by the time I realized what happened, I had installed the OS on my Server’s new 20GB hard drive and installed the OS on this guy’s new 15GB hard drive!

Right away, I grabbed for the 15GB hard drive to put back in my Server as a slave so that I could run R-Studio NTFS (a program to recover deleted data). I booted up, ran R-Studio NTFS, and found out that *poof* it was useless. Everything was lost! So I just broke down for 4-6 hours today! Since you don’t know what I had on that 15GB hard drive which was the master system drive in my Server before the install, you wouldn’t know why I acted like I did. Now please take the time and re-read the secound sentance of this post and then continue …

Poll for FilePress Features!

Ok everyone, I’m currenting working like a bat-out-of-hell on my LMB^Box FilePress plugin. I have just rewritten the old code into a PHP Class, and now I’m starting to add the final features. This is my list so far as to what will be added:

  • Finish Manage Directories – Add remove directory!
  • Add File Management – Rename, Resize, Delete, Move, Copy, etc.!
  • Add Option for Thumbnails directory – Have thumbnails in a directory like ‘thumbs’ for the current directory!
  • Add Option for BOTH Width and Height for Thumbnail creation!
  • Add WYSIWYG Compatiblity.
  • Make IE, Netscape, Opera, Safri, Firefox, Mozilla Compatible!

Please post comments as to anything else you would like to see in the plugin! I’ll try to work it in if possible.

This is what I want to add in future version:

  • File Album!
  • PHP Get File Parser – Instead of linking right to the file, you’ll use a GET var to access the file.
  • Maybe Image Editing abilities?

Small, Stupid Update …

I was working on my LMB^Box FilePress plugin when I found some small and stupid errors in my LMB^Box Comment Quicktags and LMB^Box Smileys plugins. The errors had nothing to do with the actual plugin code, they were only comments and documentation errors and only a few of them. So … instead of releasing a new version, I have just updated the plugin packages with the updated plugin files. If you would like to, you can redownload them to have this minor comments/doc fixes but there is no need to if you don’t want to. Sorry about these mistakes … can’t catch everything! :smile1_ee:

Plugin Updates!

I’ve been busy with my finished plugins … updating the code and optimizing their performance. I’m now done! It’s time to release LMB^Box Comment Quicktags 2.0 and LMB^Box Smileys 3.1! :drunk_tb:

LMB^Box Comment Quicktags version 2.0 plugin has been rewritten into a PHP Class and has had some minor problems fixed. Now the plugin should be optimized for the best performance possible. To find out more info, go the the LMB^Box Comment Quicktags Pluginpage!

LMB^Box Smileys version 3.1 plugin … well, I’ve done it again … released another version of my LMB^Box Smileys plugin within 3 days of the previous one! While I was working on my LMB^Box Comment Quicktags plugin, I came across some more code updates that would optimize the plugin’s performance and clean up the code more. To find out more info, go to the LMB^Box Smileys Plugin page!

I’m not going to be working my LMB^Box FilePress, trying to get it out of beta version! Should have something soon … hopefully! :tongue_wink_ee:

LMB^Box Smileys Version 3.0!

LMB^Box Smileys has just been updated to version 3.0. I’ve made major changes to the plugin’s code, it now uses a PHP class and fix an annoying problem with the LMB^Box Smileys Management page’s loading. To find out more info, go to the LMB^Box Smileys Plugin page!

LMB^Box Smileys Version 2.8!

LMB^Box Smileys has just been updated to version 2.8. I’ve made a fix to the Thunderbird Smileys List’s config file and reworked the Smileys Convert code to use Regex. To find out more info, go to the LMB^Box Smileys Plugin page!

Where did he go?

I know I havn’t been posting and updating as much as I wish and I’m sorry … :annoyed_tb: … I’ve been very busy with alot of other things going on. I thought that I would have the next release of my LMB^Box FilePress done a week ago, but with everything else going on I havn’t had to time like I wanted to. So I don’t think that the next release of FilePress will be poking its head out anytime soon … sorry everyone!

On another note, there was a comment about using a different way to process the LMB^Box Smileys Tags and if I get time to look into this I’ll see if it’s a good update …

I also have an idea that came from Podz about having a downloadable version of the WordPress Codex. I’m looking into creating an auto/manual query PHP script/plugin that would add an additional menu (like “Codex” or “Help”) and page that would allow your to select all of some of the WordPress Codex and Download a pdf version of it (it would be up to the minute lastest version of the WordPress Codex). I’ll have to look into this one some more, but once again I have to find the time!

I have a few other ideas for new plugins … some useful and then just plain fun! I’ll be pretty much gone (like I have been) until I finish something or come up with something else, but I will try to keep up and respond to any comments posted or emails I get.

Site Update …

I’m updating my WordPress install to 1.5.2, so for the next 10-20 mins my site may be down or just funky. I will update when I’m done.

Well that’s it! I have just updated to WordPress version 1.5.2 and everything is good. There should be no problems with my site from now on. :thumbup_tb:

Poll: WYSIWYG vs Plain Text Box?

Ok, this is a poll to see what’s in your WordPress Admin Panel!

I want to know if you use the standard Plain Text Box with Quicktags to write posts and pages or do you use a WYSIWYG editor plugin/hack :question_ee: Which do you prefer … which is easier for you … any comment you have about your choice :exclaim_ee:

Please, anyone who views this post and uses WordPress for their blog … please just take a moment and fill out a comment about which one you use, why you like it, and (if it’s a WYSIWYG editor) what is the plugin’s/hack’s name (a link would be nice too :cheese1_ee: ).

I’m polling this because of my LMB^Box FilePress and LMB^Box Smileys plugins … I wanted to see how many of the WordPress users out there use the default Plain Text Box or install one of the WYSIWYG editors, this way I can add compatiblity to my plugins. I thank you all for taking the time to read this and making any comments you may make …

Site Update …

I will be updating my main site LMB^Box – www.lmbbox.com for the next day or so. I’ll update this post as to when the site is up and running again!

If you try to go to www.lmbbox.com, you will be redirected here for the time being until the site is backup. I’ll keep you posted …

Well scratch that! For some reason the .htaccess file is having errors so for the time being my main site will just be messy until it’s done … sorry!

I didn’t have time to update this post last night … it was a long day and night! Busy with lots of other things needing to be done plus with the fact that I’m updating my site, a MAJOR update! Well, everything is just about done. The main files are up and the system is running. I just have to finish editing all the settings and content … you will just get a down for maintenance page when trying to view my main site. Oh yes, almost all the subdomains are down also. The only ones still up are aboutme.lmbbox.com, forums.lmbbox.com, nicki.lmbbox.com, and shop.lmbbox.com (even though this one will throw errors since some of the files it needs are gone!). I’ll update more later …

I’ve been trying to get a handle on Mambo for the past couple of weeks but it’s just not working out right! I’m thinking about trying something else … but everything else that I’ve looked at was crap or didn’t work like I needed it to. Bottom line is that the CMS System has to be PHP/MySQL powered, Pluginable, and Open Source! I guess I’ll have to try some more of these different ones and I’ll just keep working on Mambo, but until further notice, www.lmbbox.com is down for maintenance!
